  This is a good hotel overall, the atmosphere is fantastic, the rooms are big and nice. It's only a half mile or less walk to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and the food is decent but overpriced. The reason for the two star review is the lack of cleanliness and the rude and inattentive staff. I come to this hotel every six months and previously the staff was good, but now it's less than expected. For example on the night of my check in (March 23rd) was rude and gave us the wrong room. When we asked her to change the room explaining our reservation was different she gave an attitude and was hostile. I made my way to our room and attempted to use the key but it didn't work. This front desk clerk decided it was her break and left us in the lobby for 45 minutes waiting for a key. We also needed an extra bed for our new room, we asked her to deliver it to our room and she said she would "work on it" - this must have meant 3 hours of waiting, by the time we got the bed it was 2:35 in the morning. Keep in mind we flew in from Florida and it was 5:35 in our time. Upon arrival to our room - when the key situation was sorted out, I needed to use the restroom. The restroom had pubic hairs lining the toilet and was on par with a fast food joints toilet... Not exactly what is expected from a Marriott. On the second day of our trip to San Diego we bought groceries and saw how comically small the fridges are... Overall this is an ok hotel if you ignore the staff, don't use the restroom, and are coming to San Diego just for the beach.
